Call for Proposals

Centre Universitaire, Luxembourg 5/6 August, 2000

The Programme Committee welcomes submission of proposals for workshops in areas and topics germane to the COLING Conference.

Workshops will be held on August 5th and 6th, immediately following the conference proper. Workshops will normally last one day, but may extend to a second day if required. Those interested in organising a workshop should send a brief proposal to Antonio Sanfilippo, describing

  • topic of and motivation for the workshop (approximately 500 words)
    relevance to COLING
  • relevant experience of the organizer(s)
  • programme committee for the workshop
  • approximate number of participants expected
  • tentative schedule for the workshop
  • facilities requirements (overhead projector, etc.)

Proposers are encouraged to submit as early as possible to ensure that appropriate arrangements can be made to accommodate all workshop sessions, and to provide adequate time for proposal evaluation and feedback. No submissions will be accepted after the final deadline of January 15, 2000.


  • Electronic submission: no later than January 15, 2000
  • Notification to proposers: February 21, 2000
  • Publication of workshop calls: March 15
  • Camera-ready proceedings due: June 24, 2000
