Practical Information

The COLING 2000 post-conference workshops will take place on the premises of the Centre Universitaire in the City of Luxembourg.

Centre Universitaire de Luxembourg
162A, avenue de la Faiencerie
L-1511 Luxembourg

The Centre Universitaire is a couple of km from the Lux rail station and easily reachable by taxi or bus (take No. 3, direction Limpertsberg) how to get there

We have three rooms available in the Batiment des Sciences at the Centre Universitaire (the main new building):

    • rooms 003 and 004 on the ground level, accommodating 136 and 45 people respectively
    • room 103 on the first level accommodating 120 people

Taking into account the current number of registrants per workshop, the room assignment will probably be as follows:

SATURDAY

  • room 103 - Efficiency in Large-scale Parsing Systems
  • room 003 - Semantic Annotation and Intelligent Content (Part 1)
  • room 004 - Using Toolsets and Architectures to build NLP Systems
SUNDAY
  • room 004 - Finite-State Phonology
  • room 103 - Linguistically Interpreted Corpora
  • room 003 - Semantic Annotation and Intelligent Content (Part 2)

Refreshments during breaks are free (courtesy of the Centre Universitaire). Buffet lunch is about 300 LUF (about 7 USD); tickets will be available during registration.

INFORMATION FOR SPEAKERS:

All workshop rooms will be equipped with an overhead slide projector and an LCD projector hooked to a PC or notebook.

The PCs and notebook have Netscape, Internet Explorer and the Office 97 suite (including PowerPoint 97) installed. Internet connection is available in all rooms (it should be possible to demo over the net if required).

It is of course possible for speakers to use their own machine for the presentation (no internet connection is available in this case). However, I would recommend that you collect all powerpoint slides before hand and load them on the PC/notebook provided during registration so as to avoid unnecessary delays
